The Big Pivot
The Future of Healthcare Strategy in the Hyperspeed AI World
In two weeks (on April 29) Langdon will deliver the keynote at the INCOSE Health Care Working Group conference in Minneapolis, a gathering of hundreds of systems engineers who create the next generations of medical devices and methods for leading healthcare companies all over the world. (LINK)
He’ll review our forecast for the future of AI and its likely role in healthcare, and hammer home the absolute necessity that every organization (whether in healthcare or any other sector) must have a comprehensive AI strategy to assure that their future aligns with the massive changes – The Big Pivot – that AI is bringing.
And then will come what will likely be the highlight of the talk. Using our super-advanced agentic AI tool called Crucible (LINK), we’ve run two highly detailed simulations of the future of key healthcare device sectors, and Langdon will walk the participants through a review of what the future holds.
The first is a three-year product roadmap of the medical imaging market. We focus on the three giant imaging incumbents, GE, Siemens, and Philips, and also the firms that will seek to disrupt these big players. The Crucible analysis shows how the disruptors will attack, and how the incumbents will attempt to defend their market share and brand reputations. The case study concludes with three specific recommendations for the disruptors, and three for the incumbents.
The second case study we’ve run with Crucible is an assessment of the intelligence-driven evolution of neuromodulation, including a strategic three-year roadmap for the deep brain stimulation ecosystem. In this sector the three primary incumbents are Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and Abbott, and they face a strategic landscape characterized by the convergence of clinical neurology with high-bandwidth brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), and autonomous agentic AI systems. Disruptors like Neuralink and Rune Labs will seek to gain a major share of this rapidly-changing market.
Does strategy matter for all these companies? Of course, it’s absolutely critical.
And will AI have a major impact on their strategies, and on the nature of competition? For sure!
Join us in Minneapolis for what is sure to be a great talk, and indeed a fascinating conference. And stay tuned to this space, as we’ll release both detailed reports following the conference.
Does your organization have an AI strategy? And would you like to see Crucible’s astute analysis of the future of your industry? Ping us back and we can make the arrangements.
